Shaun Stacey recently won the Somerset English Sporting championship on 7th March at Podimore Shooting ground. Shaun shot an impressive 94, winning by 4 clays to be crowned Somerset Sporting Champion for the 14th time!
Shaun Stacey won Somerset Champion for English Sporting and Sportrap winning his crown on 1st March at Podimore Shooting Ground, Podimore, Somerset with a score of 83.
On the 29th March, again at Podimore Shooting Ground, Shaun became Somerset Sportrap Champion and High Gun on a score of 96, he shot the last 50 targets straight.
At the Southern Counties Shooting Ground in Dorchester, Shaun won the FITASC English Open GB Selection Shoot Competition against stiff opposition on 25th April.
Shaun is currently the holder of both the British and English Championship titles and has qualified for the third year in succession for the British Team in the European Championships which are taking place in Orville, France in July this year.
Haggis attended the FITASC championship on 19th April this year which was attended by 10 squads, Haggis shot a score of 93 ex 100 to win the competition and was crowned Champion for 2009.
Shaun and Haggis have been selected by the Somerset CPSA to represent the county at a ‘Champion of Champions' shoot to be held at the CLA Gamefair at Belvoir Castle, nr Grantham Leicestershire on the 24th and 25th July.
This will be a knock out competition with the top two shooters from every county trying to win top honours. The winning shooter beside individual prizes will also win a cheque for £500 towards the Somerset CPSA county funds.
Both Shaun and Haggis will be attending further competitions this year and we will update their progress as the year unfolds.
